Teacher adoption promotes fairness and consistency across your school in all classrooms, and getting teacher buy-in is a key part to a successful, school-wide positive behavior program. It is not only important to make sure that all of your teachers are trained and aware of how to recognize and award points for your school’s Hero target behaviors, it is important that they are motivated to do so.

In addition to proper training, many Hero schools promote teacher adoption through Teacher-based incentives. But, before you can dish out incentives, you need to establish what you want your teachers to do, and what you would like to recognize them for. Here are a few of our suggestions:

RECOGNIZE YOUR TOP HERO TEACHERS BASED ON:

1) Top Hero User – Recognize the teacher(s) with the most usage across varying behavioral tracks.

2) Most Improved Teacher – Recognize a teacher who made the effort to use Hero more consistently. This will give you a chance to encourage and recognize late-adopters as well.

3) Top Hero Story – Give an award to the teacher who shares the best Hero success story.
Incentives may differ based on budget and preference of your staff, so pay attention to what works and what doesn’t in your school. Here are some sample incentives to help you promote daily, consistent teacher usage:
